Philosophy for the Social Sciences and Humanities

The summer school on philosophy for the social sciences and humanities organised by Prof Sundar Sarukkai over the last four years at NIAS, Bangalore will be held at Manipal University this year. The uniqueness of this year's workshop is a focus on the idea of justice and will explore philosophical and cultural understanding of justice, drawing on both Indian and Western approaches. Manipal University is the premier private university in the country and is about one hour from Mangalore and a few kilometres from Udupi. The University has a vibrant academic culture and is geographically well situated with the sea and the Western Ghats closeby.

Who can apply
Students who are doing their PhD, MPhil or MA can apply for this course. We encourage young faculty in social science and activists who are working in the area of justice to also apply.
