Studying social policies aimed at reducing poverty, improving health and gender equality
Research Fellow
The Centre for Public Policy at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team from Canada, Peru, UK, is working on a research programme on social policy and health equity titled Examining the Impact of Social Policy on Health Equity. This proposes to rigorously examine impacts of social policies taken around the world to address poverty, economic, and gender inequity on health outcomes. Under this project funding is available for fellowship support, domestic conference attendance and training for a Research Fellow.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Fellows will have at least a Master's degree (with courses in economics, statistics, public health, social policy, etc.) and 2-3 years of experience. Basic knowledge of econometrics and a statistical package (SAS/STATA) is essential; prior experience with large micro data work will be an asset. Attention to detail and working with an international team of collaborators will be critical. The initial appointment will be for 12 months, renewable for another year depending on the Fellow's interest and performance; salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Ideally, this will be an area of active interest of the candidate and can be independent work pursued with support from the research team.
