Right across India, marginalized communities fall victim to serious
human rights violations on a daily basis.
At Amnesty International, we know there's a great deal we can do to
give a voice to these disadvantaged people. That's why we're working
hard to bolster support and drive our Asia-Pacific Programme. And why
we need enthusiastic campaigners like you to make our message heard.
About the role
In this key role contributing to our work against human rights
violations in a rapidly changing India, you'll help to develop and put
in place campaigning strategies ? raising awareness across the region
and driving our campaign policy further afield. As well as
coordinating actions and getting people involved, motivated and ready
to make change happen with us, that means offering advice and advocacy
support to Amnesty colleagues; developing best practice standards and
helping to make the biggest possible impact. You'll certainly make a
valuable contribution to the effective management of our campaigning
work. Because whether you're designing and coordinating campaign
activities, or providing research support, you'll juggle your
priorities to help out wherever you're needed.
About you
Along with excellent communication, campaigning and research skills,
you'll have a deep set and demonstrable commitment to human rights.
You will also have specialist knowledge of India and South Asia in
general, as well as first hand experience of the region and an
awareness of its cultures. Team work and the ability to coordinate
your colleagues are essential. And as you'd expect, you'll need to be
fluent English and preferably a South Asian language too. But just as
important are your outstanding communication skills and ability to
build strong relationships both throughout Amnesty and externally.
About us
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent,
international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness,
freedom and truth wherever they're denied. Already our network of
almost three million members and supporters is making a difference in
150 countries. And whether we're applying pressure through powerful
research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online
campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where
human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
