Amnesty International
Chief Information Officer
London
As the foremost name in human rights, we're experts in our field. But we can always be better ? and you can help drive our progress. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference to people's lives. Realise our Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Information Management (IM) vision and take Amnesty International use of Information Technology to the next level.
About the role
We're going through the biggest change in our fifty year history and, in this senior role, you will have a huge part to play in it. Initially assessing our current state and taking steps to improve information structures, platforms, storage and sharing systems, you'll boost effectiveness and bring your function in line with world-class standards. But that's just the start. You'll also take charge of enterprise and systems architecture, maintain security levels and develop a governance structure that balances programme priorities with resourcing constraints. You'll manage the budget, engage key stakeholders and develop an international IT community. Add to that the opportunity to drive standardisation across our global network and the impact you'll have on our movement can't be overemphasised.
About you
The scope of this role demands that you have substantial senior-level experience gained in a similar role. So not only will you possess a solid technological understanding of ICT, IM and project management methodologies; you'll also have the credibility, management and communication skills needed to lead expert teams and influence stakeholders at every level. You'll keep up to date with latest business and technological trends and be used to conceptualising and launching multiple simultaneous projects. And you'll be able to do it all whilst getting the most out of both your budgets and your people.
About us
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they're denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we're applying pressure through powerful research, direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
