Project: Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA)
Project Details: LANSA is a six year multi-country, multi-institutional research programme consortium with MSSRF as the lead institution. The project aims to answer the question "How can South Asian agriculture and related food policies and interventions be designed and implemented to increase their impact on nutrition, especially the nutrition status of children and adolescent girls?" The consortium will carry out high quality research to identify and bridge knowledge gaps: to understand the links between agriculture and nutrition; to identify effective strategies for making agriculture more pro nutrition; and how policy and action can contribute to creating an enabling environment to accelerate undernutrition reduction.
Position: (1) Research Associate (2) Post-doctoral fellow
Job Description: Work with the research team under the guidance of the team leader which could involve
(1) Developing questionnaires, collection of primary data and its compilation,
(2) Analysis of large secondary micro-data sets like NSS, NFHS or IHDS
(3) Assist in preparation of final reports, research papers
Key Qualification and Skills required:
- Masters Degree in Economics or Submission of PhD Thesis, or awarded PhD degree within the last six months
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Knowledge/experience in development field preferred
- Familiarity with the use of statistical software packages (STATA, SPSS etc) required
- Ability to adapt to project needs and schedules
- Willingness to travel
Research associate if interested in this area of research can also be considered for PhD after one year of joining if found suitable after a regular selection process.
Location: Chennai
