FINANCIAL SECTOR REFORMS AND THE INDIAN ECONOMY
November 11-13, 2010 at IIMK, Kerala, India
The objectives of the Conference are:
? To provide a forum to present and discuss research on issues concerning the impact and the effi cacy of the fi nancial
sector reforms implemented in India during the last two decades.
? To bring to light the issues that have emerged in various parts of the Indian economy due to the fi nancial sector reform
process.
? To facilitate sharing of knowledge on the Indian fi nancial sector among academicians, policy-makers, and the management
community both within and outside India.
AREAS OF INTEREST
Submissions are invited for papers relating to, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Securities markets in India, Indian money market, Corporate governance in India, Capital structure of Indian fi rms, Indian
banking system, Non-banking fi nancial companies and development fi nance institutions in India, Financial inclusion in India,
Rural and agriculture fi nance in India, Micro-fi nance in India, Insurance and mutual fund industries in India, External fund
mobilization by Indian fi rms, Current and capital account convertibility, sterilization, and infl ation control, Financial sector reforms
and fi nancial stability.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
Complete papers can be submitted directly to the Conference Coordinators at [email protected]. The deadline for submissions
is August 15, 2010. Authors of the selected papers will be notifi ed by September 15, 2010. All submissions will undergo a blind
review process. The best 6/7 papers selected for the conference will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Asia
Business Studies (JABS). The rest will be published in a regular issue of JABS. IIMK will arrange for accommodation and local
hospitality. Partial funding for travel can be arranged for select presenters from within India, subject to availability of funds.

Full Paper Submission: By August 15, 2010.
Notifi cation to authors of selected papers: By September 15, 2010.
