Chair Professor, Reserve Bank of India Endowment Unit
The Centre invites applications for the above position. The Chair is instituted to conduct research in monetary and ?nancial economics, banking, real sector issues and related areas of research interest to the Bank. The selected scholar is also required to be associated with the teaching and training programmes of the Centre.
The applicant should be (a) an eminent scholar with a Doctorate in Economics/Finance with evidence of published work of high quality in monetary economics, ? nancial economics, banking, ? nancial markets, ? nancial sector regulation and macroeconomics and other related areas; (b) have minimum ten years of teaching and research experience in Universities/National Institutions (c) and be able to teach either economic theory or quantitative methods including economic theory at the graduate level.
A contingency grant of Rs.2.00 lakh per year will be available for research support. The Chair shall follow the guidelines contained in the Memorandum of Agreement signed between the Reserve Bank of India and the Centre in carrying out his duties and responsibilities.
The appointment will be in the Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10000. Other bene?ts currently include Contributory Provident Fund, gratuity, accident insurance coverage, contributory family bene?t scheme, medical reimbursement, welfare fund bene? ts, leave encashment on retirement and campus housing subject to availability. Appointment will be initially for three years but extendable based on review.The Selection Committee reserves the right to relax the speci?cations stated here with respect to quali?cations and experience in exceptional cases, select from outside the list of applicants and offer higher salary to candidates having outstanding research experience and referred publications to their credit.
