The Centre for Development Studies (CDS) invites applications for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor from:
(a) Economists, specializing in Macroeconomics/ Econometrics/ Agricultural Economics/ Environmental Economics/ Institutional Economics/ Political Economy, preferably with an orientation towards development research
and/or
(b) Social Scientists (with a PhD in Political Science/History/Sociology/Economics, or an interdisciplinary PhD) specializing in development studies and policy with a focus on any of the following themes – environment, regulation, urbanization, local governance, identity (gender, caste, ethnicity).
Essential Qualifications/ Experience:
Professor (2 posts): Scale of Pay – Rs. 37400-67000 (PB IV) with AGP Rs.10000
(a) An eminent scholar with a doctoral degree who is actively engaged in research with evidence of high quality published work with a minimum of ten publications as books and/or research/policy papers,
(b) Minimum ten years of teaching/research experience in universities/colleges/research institutions of national repute along with experience of guiding doctoral research.
Associate Professor (2 posts): Scale of Pay – Rs. 37400-67000 (PB IV) with AGP Rs.9000
A doctoral degree plus minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in a university/college/research institution of national repute, excluding the period of doctoral research, with evidence of high quality published work and a minimum of five publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
Assistant Professor (3 posts): Scale of Pay – Rs.15600-39100 (PB III) with AGP Rs. 6000
A doctoral degree (awarded or submitted at the time of interview) with good academic record and (preferably) one or two high quality publications
