Invitation for Contributing Papers for
the Workshop on Consumer Expenditure
The National Statistical Commission (NSC), under the Chairmanship of Professor R. Radhakrishna, has taken a decision to organize a Workshop on Consumer Expenditure sometime during January-February 2011. Information on the exact date and venue of the workshop would be available in the website (www.mospi.gov.in/) of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation in due course. The NSC deliberated on various issues concerning the subject under reference and a list of these issues along with some illustrations/points on each such issue which could be addressed in the seminar is already uploaded in the above website. Further, a background note on NSS Survey on Household Consumer Expenditure prepared by the Survey Design and Research Division of National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) has also been uploaded
in the website for reference.
On behalf of the NSC, this is to request all interested individuals/organizations to contribute a paper on the issues/themes indicated above. Selected papers for the seminar would be awarded Rs.5,000/- each. It is requested to send abstract of the paper latest by 15th October 2010 and the full paper (hard copy in A4 size as well as in soft copy) by the end of December 2010. The abstract of the paper as well as the full paper may be sent to NSC Secretariat in the following address under intimation to the undersigned: Shri M.V.S.
