Training Course on Basics of Geographic Information System (GIS)
Target Audience:
MSc students or MA students in Geography or ME in Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University and Pokhara University, preferably students preparing for their thesis.
Introduction:
Our objective is to promote the use of Earth Observation, Geospatial tools and GPS among university students in Nepal. The Nepal GIS Society will conduct the training with financial support from MENRIS/ICIMOD. Please find attached a background note and course schedule from GIS Society.
Date and Venue:
From October 9-14, 2012. premises of GIS Society (Women's Development Training Centre), Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Nepal
Cost:
NPR 2500 to be paid by each participant; for a 6 day training including materials and coffee/tea and snacks NPR 7500 for each participant will be sponsored by ICIMOD (total cost for each participant is NPR 10000).
