S. K. Dey Chair in Local Government
The Institute of Social Sciences undertakes studies in contemporary social, political and economic issues in an inter-disciplinary perspective focusing on Local Governance, Decentralisation, Democracy, Gender Equity, Social Justice and related areas. It also encourages advocacy and action-research. Applications/nominations are invited from eminent scholars or practitioners in the broad areas of local governance and democratic decentralization for the S. K. Dey Chair in Local Government at the Institute.
Remuneration will be commensurate with quali?cations and experience. In addition, the scholar will be provided with the necessary infrastructure and resources to conduct research and study. These include of?ce space, library facilities, and research and travel assistance. The appointment will be initially for three years, and is extendable thereafter.
