Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research [IGIDR] is organizing a workshop at IGIDR, Mumbai between
January 17 and 20, 2011.
The workshop covers the following topics:
? Importance of standards, data exchange, data inter-conversion and migration.
? Data Standards ? CCF, MARC, Dublin Core, BibTeX, Ref Manager and data inter-conversion.
? File formats ? XML and ISO, MARCXML, and DC XML.
? MARC21, copy cataloging, export/import of data in NewGenLib and ISISMarc.
? Conversion of structured Textual and MS-Excel data to CCF and MARC21, using ISISASCII and MarcEdit.
? Zotero ? A tool for managing bibliographic data.
? Copy cataloging and exporting bibliographic data in MARC21 using ISISMarc.
? Digital objects and Metadata, Dublin Core, METS and MODS.
? Migration from DSpace to GSDL, GSDL to DSpace and ISIS to GSDL. Export/Import of data and digital objects
in DSapce.
? Metadata harvesting and Federated Search engine using PKP harvester. MySQL fundamentals.
