SIKKIM UNIVERSITY, a Central University located in peaceful and beautiful natural surroundings of Sikkim in Eastern Himalayan region,

is being designed in such a way so as to make it known for academic excellence and research, for its all inclusive institutional character

and a strong instrument of regional development and cross-border integration. The University is trying to bring in the best practices of

academic programmes, teaching methods and curriculum designing and management norms from both within and outside India and build

I. Teaching Positions

(a). SIKKIM UNIVERSITY is looking for dynamic and forward looking scholars to be appointed as faculty members in its Teaching

Programmes in the rank of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in the following disciplines on Regular Basis:

1. Department of Psychology Studies, School of Social Sciences.

2. Department of Law and Legal Jurisprudence Studies, School of Law and Governance.

3. Department of Physical Sciences, School of Physical and Chemical Sciences.

4. Department of Microbiology, School of Life Sciences.

5. Department of Floriculture and Horticulture Management, School of Sustainable Development and Livelihood Management.

6. Department of International Relations/Politics, School of Global Studies.

7. Department of Peace and Conflict Studies and Management, School of Peace, Conflict and Human Security Studies.

8. Department of Social Systems and Anthropology, School of Social Sciences.

9. School of Policy Planning & Studies.

(b). SIKKIM UNIVERSITY would also like to appoint faculty members in its Teaching Programme in the rank of Professor, Associate

Professor and Assistant Professor in the following disciplines on contractual basis or on deputation.

1. Department of Journalism, School of Media, Communication and Information Sciences.

2. Department of Chemical Sciences, School of Physical and Chemical Sciences.

3. Department of Geography and Natural Resources, School of Social Sciences.

4. Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences.

5. Department of Chinese (Asian) Language, School of Linguistics and Languages.

Qualifications : As prescribed by UGC

Appx. no. of posts : Six in each Department

Tenure of appointment : Initially for 1 (one) year, likely to continue.

Pay : Consolidated emoluments equivalent to that of the Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors

at entry level as prescribed by UGC.

Further, Professors/Associate Professors working in Universities/Colleges in the above disciplines may also be considered for

appointment in their respective rank on standard terms of deputation provided they fulfil the minimum qualification prescribed by UGC for

the above ranks and their application is routed through their present employer. Apart from pay drawn by them in their parent institution,

deputation allowance as per Government of India rule will be paid.

Retired Professors/Associate Professors in the above mentioned subjects can also apply for appointment on contractual basis.

Emoluments for such positions will be in accordance with UGC/Government of India Regulations as applicable from time to time. However,

in such cases, the recruitment will be at the sole discretion of the University.

II. Non Teaching Positions
