NOTIFICATION
Applications are invited for the posts of Ten Project Fellows, in Focus Area ?II, to work in an Inter-disciplinary research project in the area of Media and Social Development- A Study of Karnataka sponsored by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, under the University with Potential for Excellence Project (UPE). Number of Fellowships: Communication and Journalism (2), Social Work (2), Political Science (2), Economics (1), Development Studies(1), Sociology (1) and Ancient History and Archaeology-(1).
Essential Qualifications: Project Fellows:
? First class Masters Degree in any one of the following subjects: Communication and Journalism, Political Science, Economics, Ancient History and Archaeology,
Development Studies, Sociology and Social Work.
? The selected research scholars must have the ability to work in the areas of interdisciplinary research. The research basically consists of collection of data and
analysis in interdisciplinary areas of social sciences.
? Knowledge of working with basic research software like SPSS is mandatory.
? Candidates must also possess knowledge and skills of working with computers.
? Candidates must possess language proficiency and fluency. They must be capable of writing research reports and research papers.
? Candidates have to bring documents in support of the above qualifications and must be prepared for demonstration of research skills in the interview.
Candidates will be selected as Project Fellows with a Fellowship of Rs.14, 000/- per month with additional HRA as per the rules for two years and in the third year the fellowship will be enhanced to Rs.16,000/- per month with additional HRA. The Fellowships will be for THREE YEARS initially and shall be extended in special cases as per the requirements of the project.The selection will be held through an interview. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for interview.
