Vi core Mexican member, the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), has extended the deadline for submitting entries for its essay contest on international economic law and food security.
The contest, co-sponsored by ITAM's Centre for International Economic Law and the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization, will award certificates and prizes of USD 1,000, 500 and 300 to the top three articles, which will also be published in ITAM's Revista de Derecho Económico.
Unpublished articles in Spanish or Portuguese must be submitted by March 18 to [email protected].
The Graduate Institute - Geneva invites Vi members to apply for its Global South Doctoral Workshop, to be held November 30 to December 7 in Mexico City.
The workshop is an opportunity for PhD students from Africa, Asia and Latin America researching topics in international and developments studies from a southern perspective, to present their research and to benefit from the expertise of the Institute's faculty and PhD candidates.
Applications for the all-expenses-paid week-long workshop should be submitted no later than April 30.

Vi core members in Argentina, Chile and Mexico have issued a call for papers and short films in Spanish or Portuguese for their joint conference on agricultural trade in Latin America, "Comercio agrícola y América Latina: Cuestiones, controversias y perspectivas," which will take place September 19-20 in Buenos Aires.
Application forms and detailed summaries of papers addressing the main themes of the conference -- Latin America in the international trade arena; innovation, technology and agriculture; and international economic law and agriculture -- will be accepted until April 1. Authors of selected papers will receive up to USD 1,000 to cover costs of participation in the conference.
Short films (2-10 minutes in duration) addressing conference themes will be accepted until June 15. The top three films will receive a prize of USD 1,500.
