About the Seminar:
In any society governance plays a crucial role in management of all aspects of development and build an environment which permit and enable citizens to raise their capacity levels on one hand by providing an opportunity to realize their potential and enlarge a set of available choices, and on the other hand it is responsible for creating a conducive environment for building individual capabilities and encourage individual participation, effective decentralization of governance, and involvement of civil society agencies.
The concept of good governance needs to have the following provisions viz., transparency, accountability, individual participation, goal orientation, the language of professionalism, responsibility, building up of institutions and empowerment of people. The Universities and colleges are the prime resources to generate the required human capital in our country. Any reform suggested in governance and administration will defi nitely have an impact on these educational institutions. The present seminar proposes to discuss issues extensively raised by the second Administrative Reforms Committee (ARC) headed by Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Hon'ble Union Minister for Law and Justice, Govt. of India, to create an awareness and shall try to focus to bring in a change in Institutional Governance.
Topics for discussion:
1. Promoting e-Governance: The SMART way forward.
2. Ethics in Governance.
3. Right to Information: Master key to Good governance.
4. Capacity building for confl ict resolution.
5. Crisis Management.
