marginalization. In India, AKF works with a community-based, participatory approach across eight states.
The Foundation works in the thematic areas of Health, Education and Rural Development through both direct implementation and outreach
strategies. In addition, AKF works to strengthen civil society institutions and delivery of services through public systems.
The Aga Khan Foundation is entering a new and exciting strategic phase in its development portfolio in India ? starting important multi-sector

5. Oversee project planning, budgeting, resourcing, monitoring and evaluation
6. Develop and coordinate partnerships between AKF and other agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), and with other
government and civil society partners
7. Promote policy influence and transfer of lessons from AKF/AKDN programmes to public systems and broader practice
8. Support AKDN agencies to transition from being service delivery implementers to becoming competent evidence-based technical
resource agencies
9. Manage senior programme staff, and develop capacities and effectiveness of core teams.
10. Build and manage teams fit for new purpose in the Delhi and state offices
11. Support the CEO in resource mobilisation, particularly in development of project proposals
12. Represent AKF India in relevant networks and in events
13. Transitioning the organization from sector-specific project-based approaches to undertaking innovative integrated area development
programmes with long term perspectives

Leadership and team building, analytical knowledge of development in India, and cross-sector technical expertise is required. The candidate
should have at least fifteen years of experience in programme implementation in livelihoods, education, or health and water and sanitation; and
five years senior management experience in leading multi-sector projects or crosscutting interventions.
