EMERGING SCHOLARS SYMPOSIUM ON CHINA INDIA STUDIES
2-3 November 2012
The India China Institute at The New School, New York and the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, in collaboration with the
East Asia Studies Departments of the University of Delhi and the Jawaharlal Nehru University invite submission of abstracts for
the Second Annual Interdisciplinary Emerging Scholars Symposium on China India Studies scheduled to be held on the 2-3
November 2012 at the University of Delhi, New Delhi.
ELIGIBILITY
Researchers pursuing an advanced degree (MPhil/PhD) and young scholars who have been awarded their PhDs within the last
5 years are invited to send in their proposals. Advanced Master's degree students from professional ? elds such as law, design,
and architecture are also welcome to apply. The call for papers is open only to Indian citizens based in India and abroad.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates are invited to send an abstract clearly stating the paper's key research questions as well as its theoretical
framework. Papers with a strong analytical focus on India-China interactions, or any aspect of China's economic, social, cultural,
and political development will be given preference. Applicants should also clearly state the theme's overall relevance and if the
theme is part of the applicant's ongoing research work. Only original papers not previously published will be accepted.
The proposal should mention the name, current af? liation, and contact information of the applicant. All submissions and queries
should be sent by email to
[email protected]. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
DEADLINES
Submission of paper proposals (maximum 1000 words): 07 August 2012
Noti? cation of selected proposals: 20 August 2012
Final Paper submissions (maximum 6000 words): 10 October 2012
