Advertisement for Research and Teaching Assistants (RTA)

Applications are invited for 4 positions of Research and Teaching Assistants (RTA) at SOITS, IGNOU. Students with a post graduation in any branch of social sciences, preferably with an M Phil degree are eligible to apply. Selected candidates are required to register for regular Ph D work in interdisciplinary studies at IGNOU Main Campus at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi ? 110 068. Along with their Ph D work, the candidates are expected to actively take part in the overall academic activities of the School, especially in terms of providing teaching assistance to the faculty of the School in the conduct of the ongoing regular Master Degree programmes in Labour and Development and Social Anthropology. In view of this, preference will be given to those candidates who have interest and academic credentials in the fields of labour studies, history, sociology and social anthropology and who wish to pursue doctoral research in related areas, using interdisciplinary approaches. Selected candidates will be provided fellowships as per the norms followed for the RTA Scheme of IGNOU (with a monthly stipend of Rs. 14000+30% HRA; and Rs20,000/- as annual contingency grant). Applications may be sent to the Director (I/c), SOITS, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi ? 110 068, E-mail: [email protected] with cc: to[email protected] so as to reach the School by 30^th June, 2010.
