Financial Econometrics Group conference_Deakin University Australia

Financial Econometrics Group (FEG), School of Accounting, Economics and Finance presents the 27th International Conference of the American Committee for Asian Economic Studies (ACAES) 26-27 October, 2012
FEG-ACAES Call for Papers
The rapid economic growth in East Asia and the emergence of China and India as major players in the global economic system have instigated a large volume of studies on macroeconomic stability and the economics of globalization of Asia. Economic growth has
also been accompanied by significant development and growth of financial and capital markets in Asia, with financial development being perceived as a key engine of economic growth. Future and indeed sustainable economic growth of Asia will, in large part, depend
on the performance of the Asian financial and capital markets. This will have implications for trade performance as well as acroeconomic stability. The goal of this conference, which marks the 27th ACAES conference and the first joint endeavour between the ACAES and the FEG, is generally to address topics related to how financial and capital markets contribute to economic growth, international trade,  and
exchange rate stability in Asia.  Papers in all these and related areas will be considered.

Expression of interests with an extended abstract of 500 words should be submitted by  1 June 2012, and completed papers should be submitted by 22 November 2012. All abstracts/papers should be sent to [email protected]
In addition, a special session on the "Financial Econometrics of the Asian Financial Markets" will organized by FEG. Selected papers from this session will be published in a special issue of the  Journal of Asian Economics under the guest editorship of Professor Paresh Kumar Narayan. Papers/proposals/abstracts for this special issue should be emailed to [email protected]
The conference will take place at the Deakin University Melbourne City Centre from 26 to 27 October, 2012.
