Applications are invited from highly quali?ed persons for the post of
Director, NIPFP, New Delhi, India. The position
of Director carries a monthly salary of Rs.80,000/- plus allowances as
per Government rules, an unfurnished ? at
in the Institute's campus and use of the of? ce staff car for of? cial
purposes. The duration of the appointment will
be ?ve years in the ?rst instance.
The NIPFP, an autonomous institute, was established in 1976 and its
thrust areas of current research comprise
macroeconomic policy, tax policy and administration, public
expenditure, domestic and external debt, ? scal federalism,
rural and urban economics and ?nance, ? nancial sector policies,
environmental economics and social sector ? nancing.
The Director is the Chief Executive of the Institute and is
responsible for guiding the Institute's research and related
activities within the general guidelines and policies laid down by
NIPFP's Governing Body from time to time. It is
a challenging position which requires the capacity to work with other
professionals within and outside the Institute.
The Director maintains a close liaison with the government at the
Centre and State levels.
Applicants must have a Ph.D degree in Economics and at least 15 years
of research and administrative experience
with publications in referred international and domestic journals.
Knowledge of ? scal theory including tax theory,
and familiarity with practical problems of Government ? nances would
be an additional quali?cation.
