The 15th Annual Conference of Indian Political Economy Association is being organized jointly by the Indian Political Economy Association (IPEA) and Department of Economics, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana during 29th ? 30th October,
2011. The themes of the Conference are:
(1) The Political Economy of Corruption
a. Nexus between Corporations, Politicians, Bureaucrats, Criminals and role of State.
b. Is Corruption an integral part of working of capitalism? Who pays for corruption?
c. Dimensions of Corruption: Black Money and Flight of Money.
d. Constitution and Legal framework, and People's Movements against Corruption.
(2) Dispossession of People ? The question of land, forest, water and other natural resources
a. Land acquisition, land grab, changing land uses, land struggles.
b. Rights of adivasis and forest laws.
c. Sustainable use of water and other natural resources.
(3) Issues in Social Development, Environmental Sustainability, Right to Food Debate, and Democracy and Dissent Discourse
(4) Two Decades of Liberalization and Globalization: Emerging Trends in India and Elsewhere
You are cordially invited to participate and enrich the deliberations with your esteemed experience and views on any aspect related
to the themes of the Conference. I would request you to kindly send your paper to me. Papers for inclusion in the pre-conference proceedings will be accepted till 30th September, 2011.
Please send your consent as soon as possible so that necessary arrangements for your comfortable stay could be made during the conference at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana.
