 *Background:*
UNRISD is now accepting applications for a three-month internship position
for a project on Migration and Health in China, a collaborative initiative
of UNRISD and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) Guangzhou, China. The project
focuses on examining the health implications of internal migration in
China, in order to fill gaps in knowledge and contribute to better public

*Required qualifications**: *

  - Currently enrolled in a master's or PhD degree programme (as per UN
  Secretariat rules regarding interns) in the social sciences (preferably in
  the field of public health);
  - Strong interest and skills in health and social policy research;
  - Excellent communication skills including written and spoken fluency in  English (and ideally, Chinese);
  - Proficiency in MS Office package.


*Responsibilities: *

  - To support the Project Coordinator through research assistance (e.g.  literature search and review, providing inputs into publications, etc.);
  - To assist with the coordination of the project as well as the  preparation of the workshop to be held in Guangzhou, China from 16-18 July  2012;
  - To support communications activities (such as providing inputs for the  website) around the project and workshop;
  - To carry out other administrative and editorial tasks for the project  as required.


The deadline for applications is 25 May 2012 (Midnight, Central European Time). The internship will be for three months starting in June 2012 with a possibility of extension. The start date is negotiable.
