With more than one billion people lacking access to food, electricity or safe drinking water, and the world's diverse ecosystems in decline, it is widely accepted that climate change and a lack of sustainability can only exacerbate these issues.
Following the recent Rio+20 Conference underscoring the importance of environmental protection as one of the three pillars of sustainable development, strategic environmental and sustainability planning will undoubtedly play a defining role in long-term global development.
The International Centre for Parliamentary Studies is therefore proud to announce that the Professional Certificate in Strategic Environmental Planning and Sustainability will be taking place in London from the 26th - 29th November 2012.
The course will provide participants with an insight into integrated and broad environment and sustainability planning and the management of environmentally accelerated emergencies.
Using the most relevant case studies, participants will examine a range of environmental strategies to deal with the effects of ecological sustainability, climate change and environmental security and will look at the implications of natural disaster management on strategic plans.Read more.

As a result ICPS offers a limited number of opportunities for part sponsorship through our bursary scheme. There are two places remaining under this scheme for the November course. The conditions of scholarship require that the applicant currently work on environmental or sustainability issues with priority being given to those working in or supplying strategies to developing countries. Participants must also be able to demonstrate that the remaining course fees can be covered aspayment must be made within a week of successful application.
