The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (Institute of Silviculture), has a PhD position open in the field of Climate Change Adaptation / Provenance Research / Forest Modelling. The position is for a 3 year full time researcher education, culminating in a PhD degree.
The PhD candidate will work within a cooperative research project on the quantitative genetic variation of Douglas fir provenances and their climate response revealed from a field trial series in Austria. The candidate will be based both at the Federal Research and Training Centre for Forest, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW, Vienna) and the Institute of Silviculture of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU,Vienna), but will be required to carry out fieldwork in various parts of Austria together with staff of the BFW.
