IPE CONFERENCE
A TWO DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN THE BANKING SECTOR ON 8 - 9 SEPTEMBER 2011
BACKGROUND
Good corporate governance any where is normally expected to provide proper incentives for the Board and Management to implement objectives which are in the interests of the company and its share holders and which can facilitate effective monitoring. The importance of the financial sector, in particular banks to national economies cannot be undermined since it is a universally regulated industry and banks have access to government safety nets. It is of crucial importance therefore that banks have strong corporate governance. The Conference seeks to analyze Bank's performance particularly the need to attach more importance to qualitative standards such as internal controls and risk management, composition and role of the Board and disclosure standards.
INVITING PAPERS
We invite participants both National and International Scholars to present, deliver and deliberate on all dimensions and issues of corporate governance in the banking sector. Deadline for submission of abstracts for the conference is 29th April, 2011.
REGISTRATION
Delegates and paper presenters may send the filled in registration form to IPE by 5th August, 2011, along with registration fee (Rs. 5000/- per participant for faculty from educational institutions/managers and consultants; Rs.1000/- per participant for researchers/students at national level and Rs. 5000/- at International level). There is no registration fee for participants whose papers are accepted for presentation. Selected papers will also be considered for publication in the conference volume.
