Requirements:
Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master's degree (as per UN Secretariat rules regarding interns) in environmental sciences, political science or a related field from an accredited university and have academic and professional experience in issues related to environment and climate change.
Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.
Tasks:
While at UNRISD, the intern will be asked to:
- Review existing activities, including research, training and advocacy related to climate change and social development;
- Conduct a thorough literature review of existing research and publications on climate change and its links with social development, and more generally the way in which climate science and social science interacts;
- Assist in the preparation of analytical work that explores the links between climate change and social development;
- Identify key people in the field, and assist in organizing a series of seminars and workshops with selected experts.

The usual duration of the internship is two months, with the possibility of extension of up to two additional months.
