Innovations in Faculty Development Symposium June 3, 2014 Shippensburg University Shippensburg, PA United States of America This symposium will showcase innovative models and practices that are designed to support various aspects of faculty professional development. Individuals involved in faculty professional development activities are invited to attend and present their work to gain new ideas for faculty development, build a regional network of colleagues, build their professional portfolio, and contribute to a post-symposium online monograph. Concurrent presentations, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities are featured. Presentation proposals are due no later than April 4, 2014. Presentation proposals are sought that highlight innovative faculty professional development models and strategies designed to support any of the following: a) faculty learning communities and peer mentoring activities, b) the differentiated needs of new, mid-career, veteran, and adjunct faculty, c) the exploration and adoption of effective teaching and assessment strategies, d) the effective use of student and peer evaluations to improve teaching and learning, e) faculty in leadership positions, f) the promotion and tenure process, g) faculty grant and research activities, h) linking service, scholarship, research, and teaching, or i) the structure, function, funding, and assessment of faculty development programs.
