THE SCHOOL
Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), founded in 1980, has evolved into a premier seat of higher learning at Visakhapatnam on the eastern coast of Andhra Pradesh. It has been declared as a Deemed to be University U/S 3 of the UGC Act
1956 on August 14, 2007. GITAM Institute of Foreign Trade (GIFT), an autonomous Institute of GITAM, has now been brought into the ambit of GITAM University and declared as GITAM School of International Business (GSIB).
THE FACULTY
The School has positioned some of the best faculty in the country. Some of them have worked in the best of B-Schools, World Bank, IIMs and NIBM. The faculty is supported by excellent support facilities such as advanced digital library, campus ? wide high speed networks and other student support
facilities.
THE AREAS OF RESEARCH
The School emphasises research broadly in two thrust areas: International Business and Global Entrepreneurship. Specifically in such areas as Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Intellectual Properties Rights, International Trade Laws, International Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Economics and Operations Research and Management. The school also considers applications
in all functional areas of Management.
ELIGIBILITY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applications are invited for admission to full- time/ part-time Ph.D./M.Phil. Programmes from applicants possessing the following qualifications in appropriate areas: Masters Degree in International Business, Management, Commerce, Economics, Law, Social Sciences, Engineering and Applied Mathematics in the respective discipline with a 55% (50% in case of SC/ST candidates) marks in
aggregate or equivalent grade.
COURSE WORK
Full-time/Part-time Ph.D./M.Phil. Scholars are provided with rigorous training through Ph. D. coursework followed by the dissertation work.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection will be done through an admission test followed by interview.
RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP
Some Research Assistantships are available for full time research scholars.
