Sir Partha Dasgupta Fellowship in Environment and Development Economics for 2010
The South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) announces the
Sir Partha Dasgupta Fellowship in Environment and Development Economics for 2010. In honor of
Prof. Dasgupta's contribution to Environment and Development Economics in South Asia, SANDEE
will offer an annual Research and Writing Fellowship.
The objective of the Fellowship is to provide mid-career researchers with space and time to think and
write about environment and development economics. The Fellowship is open to individuals with a
Ph.D. in Economics and a demonstrated research record. Proposals from small teams of researchers
undertaking joint research will also be considered. The Fellowship can be used to start new research
projects or to complete on-going work. It will include: a) an honorarium for the duration of 2-3 months
to cover living, accommodation, and related expenses in Nepal; b) economy-class return air fare;
c) desk space in the SANDEE office. We would also consider requests to split time between SANDEE
and any other appropriate institution in South Asia. Fellows would be expected to participate in a
limited manner in on-going SANDEE activities during their tenure.
Interested candidates are requested to submit their application by 31st July, 2010 in an email to
[email protected]. Your application should include (i) a covering letter indicating your
interest and period of availability, (ii) a one or more page description of the research you plan to
undertake, and (iii) a short CV identifying your research publications.
