CENTRE FOR STUDIES IN SOCIAL SCIENCES, CALCUTTA (CSSSC), a premier research institution under the ICSSR, with advanced-level teaching programmes, invites applications for the posts of Professors and Fellows in the following disciplines - Cultural Studies, Development/Environmental Studies, Gender Studies, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Sociology and Social Anthropology. Applicants must have a record of signi? cant academic activities and research publications. Applicants for positions of Fellows should have a Ph.D. in any of the social sciences or humanities disciplines. Short-listed applicants for the position of Fellow will be required to present a seminar at CSSSC as a part of the selection process. Appointments to both positions may be either temporary (for a period of three years) or permanent. Final selections may not be restricted to applicants only.

The pay scales are as follows: Professors: 37,400 - 67,000; Fellows: 15,600 - 39,100

(AGP as per recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. Central University allowances as applicable)
