CSF's 2013 International Economic Tools for Conservation Course - Apply Early and Save!

Conservation Strategy Fund is now accepting applications for our 15th annual international training course, Economic Tools for Conservation, from August 12-23, 2013 at Stanford University. This course is offered in partnership with the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment and the Center for Conservation Biology at Stanford.

If you apply prior to November 30, you will receive a 15% discount off of the course tuition fee - that's a savings of $600! Apply now!

Over the last decade, this course has become recognized as the premier applied economics training event for conservation professionals from around the world.  During the comprehensive two-week session, participants learn to use economics to be more strategic and successful in their conservation work, and experience a transformational shift in how they view environmental issues. The course covers economic fundamentals, natural resource and environmental economics, communication and negotiation techniques, and hands-on experience with cost-benefit analysis.

"They really force you to think in a completely different way, without forgetting what you know about the environment." ? Angela Maria Mojica, Guatemala

"Taking this course was amazing because now I can link the ecological part of my work with the economic tools in order to provide or make stronger public policy. In order to prove that it is not just to preserve nature but it's also to preserve the productivity that is going to help the people in the region." ? Eduardo Ponce Guevara, Mexico

"Working with public and private stakeholders, the problem is that it's really difficult to communicate with them in the same terms that they can understand - you know, economic terms. That is, more or less, why I'm here...my work is to sell them the idea of water conservation?internalize the costs that most of the time they just don't take into account." ? Carlos Cabrera, Ecuador
