Conference on Women, Change and Leadership

We invite conceptual, empirical and practice contributions that address the topic of women, leadership and change in the workplace in particular, while one stream will be for women leadership in general. Up to now much of the research on women and leadership has addressed two main themes, namely the differences in both leadership style and leadership effectiveness between women and men (Van Egen, 2001; Eagly, Makhijani, & Klonsky, 1992; Ryan, M. K., & Haslam, S. A. 2005); and also why women are starkly underrepresented in elite leadership roles. This conference celebrates the success stories of women leaders and asks what they bring to the table in terms of effective
leadership, be it in terms of transformational leadership, collaborative leadership or engaging in contingent reward behaviours, or other dynamics. The papers from this conference will be published in an edited book of The Glocal University Press (with an ISBN number). The best student paper will receive an award. Developmental papers: These should be approximately 3000-5000 words. This form of submission is suited for more developed ideas and research projects. Practice papers: These can be written in the form of an essay
or opinion piece (2000 words). Empirical papers (including case studies): This form of submission is more suited for completed research projects and practice interventions (7000 to 8000 words). Please submit your abstracts (approx. 500 words) to Prof Payal Kumar ([email protected]) by December 25th 2013, and full papers by March 1st, 2014. Registration fees is Rs 300 (food and lodging is free).
