CALL FOR ABSTRACTS/PAPERS 
Department of Social Work (UGC Centre of Advanced Study), Faculty of 
Social Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New 
Delhi, India and School of Public Health, University of Minnesota 
(Twin Cities Campus), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA announces a joint 
International Conference and Summer School on "Public Health 
Infrastructure in Transition: Challenges and a Way Forward" that will 
take place in Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, 
India, from February 16th to 20th 2015. 
THEMATIC AREA(S) OF THE CONFERENCE ARE 
· Social and economic dimensions of health; 
· Political economy of health and social development; 
· Rural to urban migration and urban infrastructure including access 
to drinking water, sanitation, housing, roads, transport, electricity 
and communication; 
· Rural, primary healthcare & institutional referral services; 
inequalities in urban versus rural health systems and access to 
adequate healthcare facilities; 
· Infrastructure for handling emerging diseases (communicable and non 
communicable diseases); 
· Institutional infrastructure affecting reproductive, adolescent 
health, maternal, child health, family planning and nutrition; 
· Universal health coverage including health insurance; 
· Occupational health and safety (formal and informal sectors) and 
corporate practices-workers health, labour welfare measures and 
workers compensation; 
· Public health education, training & research; 
· Evidence based public health policy; strengthening public health 
organizations (infrastructure, management systems, health management 
information systems, health audit, health financing and insurance, 
trained manpower); 
· New public health management (health policy, planning, regulation, 
licensing and accreditation); 
· Infrastructure for regulation of health service providers; 
· Public-private partnerships (PPP) in healthcare service delivery and 
NGO's in health service delivery and mobile health, telemedicine 
(e-health infrastructure), and 
· Health communication. 
Those who intend to present papers in the conference are requested to 
submit the abstracts of their papers by email before August 20th 2014 
(Abstract) December 15th, 2014 (Full length paper).
