A Bi-annual Journal of Economic Science
Aims and Scope
The proposed peer reviewed journal attempts to bridge the gap between serious research in various fields of economics and its broader dissemination in terms of its accessibility to the Bengali readers. The scope of the journal will be quite extensive dealing with Development Economics, International Economics, Public Finance, Monetary Economics and various policy issues relevant for India and West Bengal. It will feature both theoretical and empirical work. This will be the first of its kind promoting original research in regional language. We have been encouraged by the fact that quite a few noted Bengali economists do write regularly in Bengali. We feel that all across West Bengal, India and the rest of the world in general, there are potential contributors and readers among the Bengali communities who will appreciate such an effort. In addition the following observations are in order.
1. It will be good reference to students.
2. Important policy issues will be debated and analyzed helping people involved in policy prescriptions and implementations.
3. Cultivating economics research in Bengali will enrich the language itself.
4. Communication with students will be easier.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We are glad to inform you that we are going to publish "ARTHABISLESHON", a Journal of economic science in Bengali starting March 2012. This would be biannual.We are inviting original research papers in Bengali encompassing all aspects of the subject. Special emphasis would be given on the issues relating to governmental policies and its' implications for West Bengal economy. The papers may contain equations, diagrams, statistical results etc. We also welcome survey papers. However, the authors are free to retain English terminologies while writing the paper and are asked not to engage in peculiar sounding translation. All the papers will be peer-reviewed and the authors will be communicated about the decision on the manuscript within 2-3 months of the submission. In addition, authors are advised to contain the page limit within 15-20 typed pages in A4 size paper. The manuscript may be either typed or handwritten in Bengali. It is also mandatory to write the title, the abstract of the manuscript in both English and Bengali. 3-5 keywords along with JEL class are required to be provided. We hope to get the ISSN/ISBN for the Journal. The deadline for submitting manuscript is 30th November, 2011 for 2012-2013 issues.
