As the conference enters its fourth year it aims to build on the strengths and successes of the previous two years by offering a true celebration of interdisciplinary study in a stimulating scholarly environment, and in the wonderfully rich physical and cultural environment of Japan. This international conference will again bring together university scholars working throughout Japan, Asia, and beyond to share ideas and forge working relationships with each other over a stimulating, challenging, and fun long weekend. The 2013 conference theme is "Connectedness, Identity and Alienation" and the organizers hope that this will again encourage and inspire exciting new research avenues, and further encourage academic and personal encounters and exchanges across national, religious, cultural and disciplinary divides.
