49^th ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF
THE INDIAN ECONOMETRIC SOCIETY (TIES)

The 49th Annual Conference of the Indian Econometric Society is scheduled to be held at Patna University, Patna (Bihar) from 9th to 11th January, 2013. Professor Biswajit Chatterjee of Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, Kolkata is the Conference President. The Society welcomes research papers that fall in the broader area of quantitative economics.  All those who are interested in submitting papers for the Conference should send the softcopy of the full paper and the abstract (300 words) to Dr K Shanmugan, Convener, Programme Committee (e-mail: [email protected]) and one copy to Secretary of the society at [email protected]. The last date for submission of papers is 15th November 2012.  Communication about the acceptance of papers will be conveyed to the authors by the end of November 2012.

Life Members are requested to communicate change of address, if any, to the Secretary, TIES, at the earliest.

TIES institutes Prof MJ Manohar Rao award

With the help of generous financial support from students and friends of late Prof MJ Manohar Rao, TIES institutes an award to commemorate his contributions to economic research as well to the TIES.  The award would be given to two best papers presented during the annual conferences of the TIES and consists of a cash prize of Rs.10,000 each and a citation.  Ph.d students and young scholars who are of below 30 years of age are eligible for the consideration of award.  Those who would like to be considered for the award may submit the paper separately to the Secretary, TIES ([email protected]) indicating their date of birth.  The awards would be presented during the valedictory session of the annual conference.
