2-Day UGC-Sponsored Seminar On "Contemporary Issues in Development Economics"

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Department of Economics is going to organize a two-day UGC-Sponsored Seminar on "Contemporary Issues in Development Economics " during 26-27 February, 2015 at Kabi Janani Sarada Sabhakaksha (2^nd floor), Rabindra Bharati University, Emerald Bower, 56 A, B.T. Road, Kolkata- 700 050.

The seminar is based on the following ten broad sub-themes:

·          Environment and Development;

·         Trade and Development;

·         FDI and Development;

·         Social Sector and Development;

·         Service Sector and Development;

·         Industrialization and urbanization;

·         Poverty, unemployment and inequality issues;

·         Labour Market Issues and Development;

·         Financial Sector and Development

·         Any other area relevant to the central theme of the Seminar.

Members of the faculty and research scholars of various Universities, Colleges and Research Institutes are invited to send theoretical and empirical research papers on any of the areas mentioned above or any allied area. Two hard copies should be sent to the following address:

Prof. Kausik Gupta, Professor and Head, Department of Economics, Rabindra Bharati University, Emerald Bower, 56A, B.T. Rd, Kolkata- 700 050  by February 5, 2015. One soft copy (MS WORD/PDF) should be sent as an email attachment at [email protected] by the same date. Each paper should be prefaced by a summary / abstract of not more than 300 words and also communication details including the address, e-mail ID, and phone number of the author/s. Authors of all selected papers will be intimated in due course.

The University will not provide any TA/DA for participation in the Seminar.
